QuickSig and Desktop Imaging
QuickSig is a product that captures and digitizes signatures at a central work station. The signatures are then compiled with a voter export file to print election poll books. Our new Desktop Imaging module in VEMACS is designed to replace QuickSig and provide electronic document filing.
Our Desktop Imaging process utilizes scanners made by Fujitsu, Canon, and Visioneer that have very small footprints. Desktop imaging will work with any scanner that uses a Twain interface. The greatest benefit of our desktop imaging module is the ability to capture the signature at each workstation during data entry and to directly tie the image to the voter's record. Voter registration clerks capture the signatures at their desks and not at a detached workstation greatly increasing accuracy and efficiency. Capturing the image and signature at the time of data entry also provides for automatic indexing.
Unlike QuickSig, the images are stored in the VEMACS database and poll books can be printed directly from the VEMACS menu. The signatures in QuickSig are converted to VEMACS as part of the conversion process. Additionally, the imaging module captures a complete image of the voter registration application or supporting document. This allows for complete electronic filing and will greatly reduce your paperwork processing. High speed imaging for all voter related records is also handled within the desktop imaging module.
